Mackman Group has been following the progress of anti-knife campaigner Holly Watson who has been chosen as a finalist in the national Young Citizen of the Year Awards (nominated by Paul Mackman), run by Rotary International. Holly has been recognised for her work to educate young people about the dangers of carrying knives. Her campaign has included working with the police, schools and community groups to get her message across. At the start of this year Mackman Group showed its support by building Holly a website to help her communicate her anti-knife message, www.idontcarryaknife.org
Holly has used the website to increase awareness and change attitudes amongst young people about carrying a knife. We wish Holly all the best for the awards presentation at the Royal Dublin Society in April.
