Suffolk-based charity, Suffolk Befriending Scheme is in the middle of an important award campaign, run by Natwest bank. CommunityForce is a new initiative which sees the bank working with local communities to support the people, projects and charities making a real difference where we live.
Suffolk Befriending Scheme provides a one-to-one befriending scheme for over 500 adults with learning disabilities. The Scheme also run seven drop in centres across Suffolk. Its volunteers offer people who are socially isolated, the opportunity to enjoy activities, learn new skills and develop their confidence, enabling them to become more included members of society.
The CommunityForce initiative is inviting people to vote in support of a number of charities and community groups across the country, encouraging local communities to support the work being done around them. Suffolk Befriending Scheme could be one of hundreds of organisations to win an award of £6,000 to spend in their community.
