The MRS annual conference will take place in London between 19th and 20th March.
Titled, “Shock of the New,” this year’s conference has an eclectic mix of keynote speakers, from artist David Shrigley to rower and six-time world champion and Olympic gold medallist Katherine Grainger CBE.
David will be looking at why human beings behave in “peculiar, delightful and unpleasant ways” and Katherine will consider some of the factors that make for success and share the “secrets of aggregative gain”.
The research world is entering a new landscape of discovery with traditional boundaries being broken and data being more easily accessible and gathered at a fast pace and by new technologically driven methods. Picking out some of the ‘Shock of the New’ highlights; the conference will look at why insight and analysis is all the more important to organisations in this fast paced and cut-throat environment.
The conference will also address the many varied strands of consumer understanding now accessible and will be asking leading brand directors how they are building a joined-up and realistic depiction of their future consumers. Business speakers will include representatives from big brands such as Google, RBS, BskyB, YouGov, The Guardian and Johnson & Johnson.
