Marketing Assistant
Meet Eleanor, our Marketing Assistant, who is involved in the creation, curation, and sharing of written content at Mackman.

My name is Eleanor, and I’m a Marketing Assistant at Mackman. Wherever there’s content to be written, whether it’s for social media, print, or a website, you’ll typically find me involved somewhere along the line. I supervise the Content and Communications Team in the office, and I work closely with the Insight, Creative and Digital teams to deliver client projects that really connect with their audiences. My original background is academic, as I have a Masters degree in History which has come in handy when both researching and writing.

Throughout my time at Mackman, I've enjoyed enhancing clients’ experiences through genuine and positive interactions, while really getting to know their businesses and what makes their audiences tick. It’s really exciting to be part of a motivated team that encourages creativity and innovation. In my spare time, you’ll find me baking cakes for the office, buying far too many plants, and visiting museums. 

What has been your favourite client project and why?

I really enjoyed working with Leiston Community Land Trust. Their pride in their home town was so evident, and it was a privilege to be able to visit and create a promotional video that reflected all the things that makes living in their town so unique. I also really enjoyed the challenge of working with the Research team on our project for Essex County Council, engaging with local businesses to establish the help and support they needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

What is the best lesson that you’ve learnt from marketing?

Since starting my role at Mackman, I have learnt so much about myself and what I am capable of if I put my mind to it. To me, marketing is fundamentally about people and how we communicate with them, and the work that we do to gather insight as part of our projects highlights just how important it is to keep a ‘human’ perspective in mind.
