Sector Spotlight: Professional Services

Over the years, we have worked with many different businesses across the professional services sector on projects ranging from brand refreshes to marketing insight. In this article, we will be taking a look over a few of the projects we have worked on within the professional services sector.

Holmes & Hills 

Holmes & Hills are an established and well-respected law firm with offices based around Essex and Suffolk. Their firm covers a broad range of services including support regarding wills, residential property, family law and clinical negligence.

The firm came to us as they felt that their brand image did not represent their modern approach with clients. The brand image had become tired and Holmes & Hills became associated with being a traditional firm and one that is localised around each individual office rather than as a larger corporate business. 

We took the time to understand the business in rich detail through insight all across the business, including internal and external stakeholders. The insight was critical to helping us inform the rebranding, resulting in a fresh and modernised brand which matched Holmes & Hills’ approach to clients and their values. We created a full toolkit for Holmes & Hills which could be seen across the office interior and exterior, and extended to the web, print and their social media channels.

Since the project, we have continued to work with Holmes & Hills on their branding and photography.

ILECS are an independent lift and escalator consultant based in Mistley. They offer a variety of services including lift design, engineering, lift maintenance and administration. 

With over 25 years of experience, ILECS felt that they were not able to reflect their values and service quality with their current branding, so sought a refresh of their brand identity. They were aware that they needed to update their brand collateral and marketing tools which had become outdated. 

We gathered insight to serve as a foundation for the brand refresh by looking into customer satisfaction, employee perception and the future of the business. This research helped inform the rebranding process. The result was a pragmatic and well-informed brand identity which was reflected visually. We provided a toolkit including a modern logo, typography, icon, straplines and photography to align with the brand message. This then fed into the development of a new website featuring the refreshed brand along with a plethora of promotional items such as brochures, bags, mugs, T-shirts and display stands.

Since the project and the evolution of ILECS’ marketing tools, sales inquiries have drastically improved. We have also continued to work with ILECS on their branding.

TCM Knotweed 

TCM Knotweed are environmental consultants who specialise in the removal of invasive weeds, especially Japanese knotweed. Based in Long Melford, TCM have worked on projects all across the UK and Ireland including the Olympic Park and The Eden Project.

Having over 20 years of experience, TCM were looking for a marketing solution that would deliver on a return of investment as well as a professional partnership for their digital growth following a lack of success in the past. 

Our solution was to work collaboratively with the team to gather insight regarding customer groups and customer journeys. The result of the research identified areas where TCM could communicate their values more effectively with customers. Following the insight, we ensured there was an effective level of communication with customers throughout the process of identifying and removing their knotweed. As well as this, we created a new professional and modern website design which allowed users to easily navigate to the information they were looking for. We also produced a new colour palette, icon library and typeface to strengthen TCM’s brand identity.

Sandersons are trade and patent attorneys covering a range of specialisms with over 50 years of experience. Based in Colchester, the attorneys protect businesses from infringement by copyright, trade marks, patents and domain names. Sandersons' team operates worldwide and have gone on to develop strong relationships with businesses and individuals in the UK and overseas.

Sandersons came to us looking for a way to progress their branding and marketing strategies in order to communicate with their potential clients better. Their proactive and progressive approach to protecting intellectual property wasn’t as well communicated as it could have been. There were also some problems regarding their website as it was difficult to manage and could have expressed their heritage and range of services better to their prospective and existing clients. Furthermore, the website was unresponsive to mobile and tablet devices.

We conducted a client survey in order to help Sandersons improve their services. What the insight uncovered was that there was a gap between Sandersons’ perceived and intended brand image. It also uncovered that the majority of clients discovered them through a recommendation or by an existing awareness. Due to this, we saw that there was an opportunity for Sandersons to reach a broader range of clients through utilising other marketing channels. As a result of the insight, we were able to carry out a website re-design which was able to communicate to customer segments more effectively. The website also enabled more efficient customer journey support and we implemented keyword research. Adding onto this, we re-shot the staff photography to convey the more approachable brand image that Sandersons had wanted. 

Following the project, Sandersons saw a 30% increase in their overseas website traffic.
