Superheroes descend on Halesworth in aid of Children in Need

For the fourth year running, the team at Hammonds Subaru has supported Children in Need by initiating a number of fundraising campaigns, which included a group of employees dressing up as superheroes! Batman, Robin, Supergirl and Captain America made their way around the Hammond Group business, before heading into Halesworth town centre, collecting from a number of other local businesses.

David Kindred, Sales Manager at Hammonds Subaru, says, ‘Children in Need has always been an important charity for us, which is why this year, we really boosted our fundraising efforts. All the staff like getting involved, with each area of the business able to raise money in a different way.’

Hammonds Subaru hosted a bake sale, an ebay auction of merchandise goodies, and held a ‘Guess Where Pudsey Is’ competition. Buzz Lightyear, aka Piers Capleton, Dealer Principal at Hammonds Subaru, joined the rest of the superheroes for a 96 car Subaru rally, hosted by local enthusiast and owners club, ScoobyCity from Norwich.

Having recently become an official ‘Subaru Pro-R Supplier’, the Hammond Group was able to auction off branded merchandise from well-respected brands like Eibach and SuperPro. The auction took place on eBay, and included key rings, clothing and even the team’s fancy dress costumes!

In total, Hammonds Subaru raised £1,200 for Children in Need. ‘We’re delighted to have raised so much,’ says David. ‘It’s a cause that we really believe in and would like to thank everyone who took part.’
