Mackman is a busy boutique agency with the unifying strap-line 'together we grow'. It’s been with us since the day we launched and of the relationships that our agency has with clients, suppliers, colleagues and the wider community. It is the blend of our talented team combined with a ‘can do’ attitude and thirst for best practice that is at the heart of our success.

A dynamic environment

Working in an agency is hard work, deadlines are tight and targets demanding but it makes for a dynamic environment. We do our best to make the work as enjoyable as we can and working agency side is rarely dull. You need to be a team player because we all need a helping hand sometimes, especially when priorities or deadlines change. You can be sure that working at Mackman will grow your skill set and develop you as an individual.

Social time

We have regular staff socials, at least we used to before Covid which has made that harder. There is a summer social which normally includes freshly made pizza, salads and a BBQ in our garden. At Christmas we naturally all go out together and sometimes drink and eat too much. There are other excuses to go out together like gigs or celebrations. 

Balancing work with time for you

Everyone gets an extra day off on their birthday courtesy of the business. We expect everyone to work hard but don’t expect anyone to work unreasonable hours. We also don’t contact staff outside of work hours. We have people working from home and in the office and take a flexible approach to individual needs.

Working for a busy, family-run marketing agency can be one of the most rewarding places to develop your skills for an enthusiastic graduate.

We are always keen to offer placements to graduates with the aim of giving them the best of starts to promising careers. If you have something special to offer and live in the Sudbury area then get in touch. Kickstarters for recent graduates

This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding graduate looking for their first step on the career ladder. It is open to those qualifying for the government Kickstarter scheme. Providing a solid grounding in a range of research and communications disciplines and working with a team of experienced specialists, you should be an enthusiastic, self motivated and positive individual.

Key Responsibilities

Providing support to the Insight and Communications specialists, your role may include conducting B2B research, competitor analysis, writing reports and short articles, social media writing & posting, general admin, office housekeeping. It is anticipated that you will mainly be writing articles, guides and news pieces to be posted online.

Your skills

Knowledge of Excel, Word, WordPress, and be able to adapt to new software, have an excellent telephone manner and writing skills, be keen to learn, be positive with a can do approach, and enjoy working as part of a team.
