SUDBURY ARTS CENTRE
Building A Brand For A Community Space
About The Client
Sudbury Arts Centre, formerly known as St Peter’s Church, has been at the heart of Sudbury since the 14th century.
However, for over 50 years, the building had been underutilised and lacked modern facilities and proper care, preventing it from reaching its full potential.
Faced with the possibility of closing the building to the public due to safety concerns, Mackman stepped in to support the Friends of St Peter’s in 2017. Mackman played a crucial role in securing £1.67 million of funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
This marked the beginning of a four year regeneration project, revitalising the church. Mackman, again, assisted with this transformation.
Project Overview
“This project is looking at taking a beautiful much loved medieval church in the heart of Sudbury, repurposing it into a vibrant cultural arts centre that will be run by local people for the benefit of local people.” Isabel Assaly, Head of Regeneration, CCT

Mackman was delighted to support this second phase of works for Sudbury Arts Centre, and it’s fantastic to see the branding applied throughout the building. With a host of exciting events and opportunities for the community, Mackman looks forward to continuing to support Sudbury Arts Centre as it embraces its new life.
“We couldn’t have done it without them (Mackman). We struggled to get additional budget for marketing, which is absolutely crucial, and in-kind they have supported that.” Alli Burke, Arts Centre Manager, Sudbury Arts Centre
