A number of prizes have been donated by local Sudbury businesses to support a charity raffle raising money for brain injury victims, which will be taking place in Barclays Bank in Sudbury, on Saturday 13th December at 12pm.
The raffle has been created by exploringUcounselling, an organisation made up of a team of counselling and psychotherapy specialists who support those coping with trauma and brain injury. All of the proceeds from the raffle will be given to Headway, a UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury.
Glenda Roberts, founder of exploringUcounselling said, “We really appreciate the support we’ve received from both businesses and the people of Sudbury. The money raised will make a real difference to the victims of brain injury who to often feel they have no way ‘out’ or just don’t know where to turn for help and support.”
The team have contacted numerous businesses in Sudbury, inviting them to donate raffle prizes to raise money for the cause and were overwhelmed by their generosity. Those that have donated include Kingfisher Leisure Centre, Sudbury Waitrose, Rafi’s Spice Box, Winch and Blatch, FANBOO Hairdressers, Willow Tree Farm and many more.
exploringUcounselling has also been running a ‘pop-up shop’ (pictured), every Saturday morning in Barclays Bank in Sudbury since October, selling two types of raffle tickets; one to win a mobility scooter (£5 each) and another to win prizes donated by local businesses (£3 each).
The last chance to buy tickets for the raffle will be Saturday 13th December, from 10am. Hundreds of tickets have been sold and exploringUcounselling are hoping for a large turn out from the public for the final draw, which will also take place on Saturday 13th December, at midday. Winning tickets will be drawn by a number of guests including Jamie, one of exploringUcounselling’s brain injury clients, and several representatives from the Headway charity.
