About The Brand

The Property Institute (TPI) is a leading professional body for residential property managers in England, Scotland, and Wales, formed by the merger of ARMA and IRPM.
TPI stand as a trusted and credible voice, committed to driving standards within the sector to make a positive difference for their members, clients, and residents.



Project Overview
The Property Institute approached Mackman to redefine their brand to support the merger of ARMA and IRPM as a single governing body.
The purpose of this project was to establish a strong brand identity and develop a new visual language for the organisation, representing knowledge exchange and an authoritative tone for leadership within the residential property management sector.
Mackman relied on membership insights to develop a strong foundation for the revised identity, driving a strategy that ensured brand success.
The employee and key stakeholder insight reported historic sentiment towards each brand. Despite the significance of IRPM and ARMA within their respective sector segments, an appetite for a new organisation existed that would pool resources and knowledge.
Research and insight with external stakeholders reported a need for a single cohesive brand that would display authority, professionalism and trust to all audiences.
The primary objective was creating a visual brand that would assure existing members that historical brand equity would merge to form an even stronger and more substantial brand that would have a significant impact, enabling industry standards and community wellbeing to improve.
However, the challenge with a brand merger is to ensure that historic brands feel included in the new branding. Each brand has its strengths and is respected for slightly different reasons. The challenge was to respectfully merge the brands whilst producing a new identity that signifies TPI’s mission, vision and values.
Project Outcomes
The Property Institute is now in possession of a versatile brand toolkit and visual language, and a more confident and established brand personality, nurturing growth as the governing body for residential property management across the UK.
Thanks to the branding strategy and development services offered by Mackman, The Property Institute now has a profound focus on it’s membership, network and community base; the updated brand toolkit a visual representation of this effort.
